In the quest for optimum performance there are a number of areas in which the after market has made tremendous improvements over OEM equipment. Clearly one of the most popular areas - because of affordability and ease of installation from the standpoint of the enthusiast - is in the realm of polyurethane components. Most vehicles are built using rubber bushings in the control arms, strut rods, suspension and body mounts, sway bars, shocks, etc. In addition to being on the soft side (to accomodate the majority of typical car and truck buyers) they tend to deteriorate rapidly. This can lead to premature component failure, a spongy ride and less-than ideal handling. PROTHANE has taken these various components and developed a series of superior quality polyurethane-based chassis and suspension parts. And there's a-lot more to each of these components than merely substituting polyurethane for rubber. For example, there are different density compounds for various applications. This assures that the bushing hardness is suited to its intended use. What's more, all production is carefully monitored by PROTHANE technichians, using specialty measuring and metering equipment to make sure that products meet stringent quality control specifications.
