If you are looking for the best performing, highest quality clutches available, then Clutch Masters is what you have been looking for. What makes Clutch Masters different? It starts with a 20-thousandths stainless steel backing on the backside of the friction material. This helps to transfer heat from the lining to minimize clutch fade and ensure consistent performance. From there, they use a modified fulcrum point to increase pressure on the disc but without a substantial increase in pedal pressure as seen with other clutch brands. This is also important in protecting against the destruction of the crankshaft from excessive pressure on the thrust bearing which can happen when the pedal pressure is excessive. Some Extreme duty clutches can push the crankshaft a few thousandths of an inch forward when the clutch is depressed. This is not good at 8000 RPM. Lastly, the pressure plate utilizes a ductile iron casting which gives a much higher burst strength than other grey-iron castings. This gives you the peace of mind that the clutch will not be riding in the seat with you under high rpm use.

This assembly is designed to provide extended life and superior holding power for cars with moderate power upgrades and/or more enthusiastic driving in abusive conditions. The pressure plate offers 40-65% more clamping force than a stock cover. Most organic discs provided in our assemblies include steel-backed lining to enhance the structural integrity of the material which is complemented by the highest quality hub assemblies available to ensure durability and driveability.
FX200 - Stage 2 - Holding capacity 70% over stock
This clutch offers comparable torque capacity as Stage 1, but provides exceptionally smooth engagement & extended life. This is due to the full-face Kevlar disc. This clutch is designed for the daily driver that desires smooth & effortless transitions. Kevlar clutch kits require a break-in period of 500-750 miles under normal driving conditions.
FX300 - Stage 3 - Holding capacity 110% over stock
The perfect clutch for aggressive drivers that still desire smooth engagement. Our Stage 3 clutches utilize a segmented Kevlar disc. This will provide more holding power than Stage 1 & 2, yet it still offers exceptionally smooth driveability and long life. Combined with our aluminum flywheel, this an excellent performance upgrade.
FX400 - Stage 4 - Holding capacity 170% over stock
The clutch for aggressive drivers. This is the perfect road-racing application. Stage 4 utilizes a 4-puck ceramic sprung disc complemented by a bulletproof hub assembly. It is designed for cars with significant power upgrades. Engagement is hard and quick.
FX500 - Stage 5 - Holding capacity 250% over stock
This is considered a race-only application. This clutch is not designed for daily-driving. Stage 5 offers a rigid 3 or 4 puck disc without springs. Engagement is immediate. Please be advised that life expectancy is reduced when using race clutches. Please contact Clutch Masters for proper diagnosis prior to the purchase of race-only clutch kits. We commonly find that this clutch assembly is used in street driven applications where large amounts of NOS is being used where budget is an issue.
the FX400 is a great clutch with tremendous holding capacity. no more mushy, fluttery clutch with the Clutch master FX400! i would recommend it with the 6 puck instead of the the 4 puck design, for a more street-able ride. 6 puck does not eliminate the feathering abilities like the 4 puck does.
