AEM Tru Power pulleys are made from CNC machined 6061 T-6 billet aluminum to increase horsepower and engine response without the need to remove the torsional vibration damper or emission control devices. AEM Tru Power Pulleys are lighter in weight and larger in diameter slowing down the power steering and alternator, reducing the amouny of energy needed to drive them. Significant horsepower gains can be realized with this simple to install package with no recorded effect on emission levels. Each application includes both power steering and alternator pulleys and high performance custom-fitted belts. Available in anodized red, blue, or silver.

AEM Tru-Power pulleys increase horsepower by decreasing the parasitic effects that factory accessory pulleys have on a vehicle's engine. The pulley's lightweight 6061 T-6 billet aluminum construction reduces rotating weight and increases efficiency. Significant horsepower gains can be realized with this simple to install package with no recorded effect on emission levels. All pulleys have a tooth profile that is guaranteed to match OE (Original Equipment) specifications, eliminating the chances of premature belt wear. Each Tru-Power pulley kit includes comprehensive instructions, power steering pulley, alternator pulley, custom fit performance belts, and AEM decals.

Key features:

  • Oversized pulleys reduce power required to drive accessories for more horsepower at the wheels
  • Properly sized replacement belts included in every kit
  • Available in blue, red and silver with laser-etched graphics for show-quality looks
  • Removal of torsional vibration damper NOT necessary*
  • Manufactured in the USA

Quick Tips for TRU-POWERTM Pulley Installation:

Do TRU-POWERTM Pulleys include replacement belts?

Q:  Quick facts about TRU-POWERTM Pulley Systems:
A:  AEM manufactures two pulley systems whenever possible. Typically, these include the power steering and alternator pulleys. In some cases, AEM manufactures an alternator and water pump pulley when the power steering pulley is “pressed” onto the shaft of the power steering compressor. When both the water pump and power steering pulleys are pressed onto the shaft of the given accessory, AEM manufactures a single pulley system for the alternator.

Q:  Will TRU-POWERTM Pulleys slip?
A:  The belt tooth profile on AEM Tru-Power pulley systems are guaranteed to match the OE belt tooth profile to prevent premature belt wear and eliminate any chance of belt slippage.

Q:  Why doesn’t AEM make a crank pulley?
A:  Virtually all of the cars we make Tru-Power pulleys for come equipped with a harmonic damper mounted to the crank from the factory. Aftermarket crank pulleys require the removal of this damper, which is required for engine life. Its removal can cause damage to your engine over time by allowing unnecessary Noise Vibration and Harshness (NVH) to affect engine operation.

Q:  Can I use AEM pulleys with an aftermarket crank pulley?
A:  We do not recommend the use of our pulleys with an aftermarket crank pulley as it may negatively affect the speed of the vehicle accessories, in addition to introducing engine NVH (see “Why doesn’t AEM make a crank pulley?”).

Q:  I have an engine swap. What TRU-POWERTM Pulley kit should I buy?
A:  You should buy the kit that is designed for the engine you have installed, not the vehicle chassis that the engine is in.

Q:  I have a JDM engine. Is there a TRU-POWER Pulley kit for my engine?
A:  AEM does not have access to all JDM engines and therefore we cannot guarantee that our pulleys will fit on them. We do not recommend using our pulleys on JDM engines as it may void the manufacturer warranty on the pulleys and could potentially damage your accessories.

Q:  I don’t have power steering. Can I purchase only the alternator pulley?
A:  No, AEM TRU POWERTM Pulleys are sold as a system and are not sold separately. We offer single pulley systems for popular applications that do not have power steering from the factory.

Q:  Where can I buy a replacement belt for my TRU-POWERTM Pulleys?
A:  You can purchase replacement belts at any major auto parts store. We typically use Bando belts in our kits and recommend keeping the belt sleeve or recording the part number for future

Q:  Quick Tips for TRU-POWERTM Pulley Installation:
A:  AEM TRU-POWERTM Pulley Systems are a simple installation for most do-it-yourselfers. Simple hand tools are all that is required for installation, which include sockets, open-end wrenches and Allen wrenches. Although having access to an air gun and a lift is ideal for virtually all automotive modifications, you can install most of our pulley systems with the vehicle on the ground or using jack stands. AEM provides comprehensive installation instructions with each system that include diagrams for easy reference. You can view a copy of our instructions on the TRU-POWERTM Pulley search results page for your vehicle.

Q:  Do TRU-POWERTM Pulleys include replacement belts?
A:  YES. Every AEM TRU-POWERTM Pulley System includes properly sized replacement belts and comprehensive installation instructions.

Not a bad mod, would not reccommend for those with hi powerd systems and A/Vs dose not give enough juice back to the car at long idles. i still have the PS pulley and would never think twice about taking it off but the ALT pulley had to go.

I bought this product and still using them. I didnt feel much of an increase being its hard to tell by just driving. I"m sure it helped a little but not enough to feel the power. Although it does make the engine bay look a lot nicer.

A good and cheap way to add Hp to your car, sleeper wise. Gives more Hp when added with intake and/or exhaust. Also looks great!
