The 6 Offroad ignitions' circuitry is encapsulated with an epoxy coating, creating a water and vibration-proof ignition fit for the great outdoors. Weathertight connectors are included for positive locking, water-resistant electrical connections. These ignitions work with virtually any vehicle using a 12 V electrical system and a distributor. They work with points, amplifiers, or magnetic pickups on 4, 6, or 8-cylinder engines.
MSD's 6M-2 CD Marine ignitions are designed for use in performance marine applications where high energy and reliable ignitions are necessities. Below 3,000 rpm, a series of multiple sparks burns in the cylinder for 20 degrees of crankshaft rotation, ensuring complete combustion, and more power reduces plug fouling. The capacitive discharge design allows for full power sparks throughout the entire rpm range, while weathertight connectors with multi-ribbed seals are used to make secure electrical connections, without the possibility of shorts. To protect their electrical circuitry from the elements, the entire unit is potted with a waterproof Dupont Restech compound. They can be triggered by magnetic pickup, amplifier, or points-style distributors, and their harness will allow them to be connected to any of MSD's Pro-Billet marine distributors.
