The action of shifting gears at a desired engine rpm from shift point to shift point can increase consistency and performance. The Pro Stock tachometers allow the racer to select up to four separate shift points and pre-set each one using a digital readout located on the dial face. They also offer "Short-Shift" protection that responds when a gear has been changed, even if the driver changes gears before the shift light has been triggered.
