The ABS sensor ring goes outside of the wheel hub assembly and most commonly tells the ABS system how and when to react. Noises or vibration may come from the ABS pump or ABS Control Unit, when your ABS ring is chipped, or damaged causing incorrect readings by your ABS control unit or irregular braking from your car.
My ABS pump makes a horrible screeching sound when I depress the brakes, and the car shakes when I brake suddenly
If there are no lights on indicating a ABS error or failure, we would recommend you take your vehicle to a local dealer or mechanic for further inspection. Your ABS ring may be damaged, or you may have a problem with your ABS control unit.
